“A 4.0 litre engine, precision-tuned to take you from 0-60 in under 7 seconds, without even raising its voice.”
This vibes with everything I know about the development of the AJ-V8. Apparently, very early on in the design process, corporate was worried that a V8 would be too loud and “un-Jaguar-like.”

Those old jags looked so dated. I still think that 5 series is one of the prettiest cars BMW ever made.

I agree, especially considering they stopped making the e60 in 2010.

“A 4.0 litre engine, precision-tuned to take you from 0-60 in under 7 seconds, without even raising its voice ... two or three times a month, but only on dry days.”
Fixed.

BMW is just jealous that the Jag actually has a hood ornament :p

I think the only BMW to ever have a hood ornament was the first car they made, the dixi. Unless you count the rolls Royce as a BMW. I do like a hood ornament though.

Hey, I resent that statement. My Jag works at least two or three times a week!

Jaguar owners used to joke about members of the Home Before Dark club ... could you make it home at night before all the exterior lights had failed ....

Reason #1 why I’ll always be eternally grateful to Ford.

I think they’re dated in exactly the right way. They look like they were designed in 1987 instead of 1997. Sleeperness shaves 2 seconds off of the 0-60 time.

Ford could not do a lot of things in the 90s, but it could sure as shit build a wiring harness.

I still sometimes get an alert to “check rear lights,” but it usually goes away after I restart the car, like practically every other problem. Early 2000 Jags are basically early 2000 PCs.

I’d rather have an X308 than an E60 10 out of 10.

Maybe Ford should buy VW?

Pretty sure ze Chermans can build a wiring harness, but can they build a front end that doesn’t have 54 ball joints? Maybe not.

VWs/Audis seem to almost always have a light out.
Mercedes built a harness that was biodegradable... on purpose apparently.
